With oxen and with sheep Well stored, and laden vines and cornfields deep, And hunger never comes upon the folk, Nor sore diseases that make mortals weep.
Though Isi was not a living thing before, she was created from living hands. Hands that made, hands that bled, and hands that held. Hands that held one another up and held one another together. They had to when existing, in any form, is a sliver away from impossible and there is only each other to guarantee continued existence. Though, despite how hard they tried to hold each other together, they were not always successful. As they carved into the earth, they carved beautiful things to make those places of rest adorned, decorated, honored. There was always loss, but they made that loss beautiful.
Isi is heavily tied to these places and has never approved of Vetru’s decision to transform her. Isi’s previous existence was well-defined; an embodiment of reverence, a representation of devotion, a token of a community that was buried by earth and time, but not forgotten.
She was comfortable with this and did not desire a life separate from that purpose. Thus, it has taken several ages for Isi to be comfortable with her new existence, but, at times, she loses grasp on her purpose as an esk. During these moments, she looks to compassion and connection to give her direction, as these were the tenets of the community that built her and gave her an original purpose.
These qualities allow her to be easily accessible and welcoming to any who approach. She can be awkward and clumsy in initial conversations. After all, inanimation to animation is not an easy accomplishment, but she actively tries to improve by listening and then practices through storytelling. Years of dedication to this practice have enabled her to become an illustrious storyteller, so much so, it’s fabled Isi is the one who has taught infamous Seer her theatrical craft.
True or not, Isi is humble about her skills and focuses more on helping others achieve their own resolution. She attempts to represent the people who made her in an effort to continue their story. Her actions originate from a place of kindness and strength; to support one another but to also succeed.
Isi is a very skilled transformer and has perfected the practice into an art form. She is a master at crafting her own energy to tailor the transformation to the esk, creature, or object who desires it. She greatly enjoys transforming things that will have a defined purpose so she can watch them grow and develop afterwards. She is a innately kind mentor, but she can be somewhat demanding. She wants to see the resulting esk be the absolute best that they can be, and she is keen on pushing esk to challenge themselves and face personal challenges. Her transformations are like seeing new blossoms during a most spectacular spring.
